Confidential wine selection, small estates & old vintage
The Chassagne-Montrachet Les Encégnières from the Bachelet brothers is an emblematic cuvée that, although a simple "village," possesses all the attributes of a premier cru: aromatic complexity, density, depth on the palate, and a perfect balance between indulgent fruit, citrus energy, and mineral finesse.
Born from an exceptional terroir, this vineyard benefits from a stony, clay-limestone soil, close to the Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet. The nearly 50-year-old vines produce fruit with rare concentration, nourished by a biodynamic approach that respects biodiversity.
The 2018 vintage, with its low yields, reveals a seductive and powerful Chassagne Les Encégnières. Aged with a quarter new wood, it showcases enticing aromas of stone fruits, white peach, apricot, and pineapple, complemented by hints of saffron, honey, and white flowers.
On the palate, it offers remarkable precision and balance, with a silky texture, juicy acidity, and salinity from the limestone. The vibrant finish lingers, making this wine irresistible, perfect for pairing with roasted scallops or sautéed langoustines.
