The Médoc, along the left bank of the Garonne and Gironde rivers, is a key Bordeaux wine region known for its red wines. Although the Médoc AOC covers the entire region, it is mostly associated with the northern part of the peninsula. The southern part is covered by the Haut-Médoc AOC, which includes six prestigious communal appellations. Médoc wines are characterized by their fruity bouquet and roundness, with a higher Merlot content compared to Haut-Médoc wines.
