Château Roc de Cambes belongs to the Mitjavile family, with François acquiring it in 1988. Located on the foothills of the Côtes de Bourg appellation, the château quickly became a major player in the region due to the unique identity and high quality of its wines. The Mitjavile family is also the owner of the renowned Tertre Roteboeuf in Saint-Émilion.
The estate comprises two properties: Domaine de Cambes, situated in the Paluds and classified under Bordeaux appellation, and Château Roc de Cambes.
The latter is located on the slopes of Côtes de Bourg.
The vineyard spans around ten hectares of vines arranged in an amphitheater on the hillsides. François Mitjavile has entrusted the estate's management to his daughter, Nina, who carefully tends to this clay-limestone terroir reminiscent of her childhood at Tertre Roteboeuf. The Mitjavile family also owns another estate, Domaine de l’Aurage, formerly known as Château Cadet, which is managed by Louis, François's son.
Château Roc de Cambes and the other Mitjavile properties produce wines that highlight the richness of the terroir and the Merlot grape, the family's preferred variety.
